In addition to the products manufactured in series and already available on the market, Silimed offers a customized service to attend to specific demands, manufacturing made-to-measure silicone implants, on the suggestion of physicians, in any group of implants and for a great variety of specializations. In some cases, bearing in mind the demand for special products with similar characteristics in different markets, Silimed initiates a feasibility study for the special product to become a line product, understanding the product to be a market necessity. A good illustration of this is the case of the intermetacarpal spacer that attends to the specialization of hand surgery.

Based on plaster molds or drawings provided by the professional in charge, special products are manufactured to specific dimensions. The doctor chooses the type of surface to be used (smooth, textured or coated in polyurethane foam), the consistence of the filling gel and the degree of hardness of the silicone (gel or elastomer).

To order a special product, it is sufficient for the surgeon to contact the Silimed regional representative, who will fill out a “Request for Special Product” form and send it to the company.
